When are we going to see a mature drug policy that stops penalising and persecuting people for trying to medicate themselves with plant medicines, which grow in the ground for free, for instance using cannabis for arthritis, insomnia, or for mental health issues, microdosing with psilocybin, using Ahayusca and DMT to help with many many mental health issues and addictions, using ibogaine for opiate addiction.
A policy that stops punishing people for not being able to cope with the stress of everyday life or to cope and process their traumas, many people drink after a day at work, or at the weekend to help them forget the grind, the monotony, the general malaise, we all do it, we all need to escape reality once in a while, it's no different for many others who use something other than drink. Prison doesn't rehabilitate anyone, it just makes money for G4S and Serco.
When are we going to see some compassion in society for those who are vulnerable or suffering instead of locking them up for not being able to cope with reality. When are we going to recognise plant medicines as different from harder 'drugs', IE cannabis, psilocybin, Ahayusca, DMT have very therapeutic benefits and they should not be classed as drugs in the same way that substances like amphetamines, crack, heroin , fentanyl etc are. Why does the government want to force us to use the black market to buy our medicines? where we have no control over quality and rarely get what we actually want, why can a man not grow his own cannabis at home to treat his health problems, it's considered soma and sacred in some cultures, it can help with meditation, has entheogenic qualities, calms people down. So why are we not allowed a plant?

Why does the government want children to be exploited by criminal gangs selling them super strength weed that is a massive factor in mental health problems, instead of making sure that if people want to use these substances, they can access clean and more appropriately strengthed delights. There's enough people in the UK who smoke cannabis and they are not going to be stopped so why does the government not recognise their community and their inaliable right as Earthlings to use whatever plant they wish whenever they wish.
Why does government, not produce enough cannabis at a cheap enough price that they can afford to put a tax on it and still undercut the black market, ensuring people can access clean good quality weed from a chemist or dispensary, licensed seller or something, the tax can help pay for the mental health treatment that a very very very small % of user suffer from and takes money out of the hands of organised gangs and their related violent crimes.
Why is the government not listening to the people? isn't it time to radicaly update our antiquated attitude and mindsets when it comes to drugs, drugs use and the reasons behind substance use? isn't it time we modernised our drugs policies and bought them up to date to actually reflect the current state of society? Isn't it time we all started being honest with each other and admit the 'war on drugs' is not working, it's a pantomime that puts money into the hand's of criminals and allows them to exploit youngsters whilst simultaneously punishing people for needing to numb their emotional pain, or alleviate some physical discomfort, for just wanting to relax and chill out?
It's time the UK adopted a model similar to the one used in Portugal, instead of just arresting and punishing people, intervention is provided. When someone is arrested they are spoken to by a panel of their peers, a judge, policeman, doctor or similar who simply try to ascertain what is going on and why this person is using any substances, and what help and support they can provide. People need to accept that the reality of the situation is that the war on drugs will never be won, they are too deeply embedded into our society to completely eradicate so instead of channeling all the money into the black market, isn't it time that money was redirected into the economy where it can actuallly make a difference. Criminal gangs leech money from the community and ultimately the economy, they don't pay tax on any money earned from selling drugs. If a Dutch style model was introduced for cannabis, allow people to grow max of 6 plants at home, carry up to half an ounce on their person, and make it available to buy through dispensaries, there could be a limit of no more than 5 coffee shops per 3 square miles or something, anyone who wishes to grow cannabis commercially should have to purchase a license, if an unlicensed cannabis grow is discovered the people behind it will still be arrested and prosecuted but the cannabis itself should be finsihed and harvested, then sold through dispensaries and the money can cover the costs of that particular crime, any left over can go into the economy. It's also time people accepted the fact that criminal gangs are not going to stop trying to get people smoking cannabis, without intervention young people end up in a life of gang culture and crime, living in fear, no future, no job, no life. If cannabis was legal from age 16 but you have to be 21 to buy strains with a thc content above 17-18%, you could provide intervention for youngsters who start smoking it. Nobody wants to see kids smoking cannabis but the sad reality in 2025 is that criminal gangs are going to get kids smoking it so you either allow the younger generations to dissapear into the gang lifestyle or you put a safety net in place to catch as many as you can and try and steer them in the right direction.
The ex Tory health secretary Victoria Atkins husband is a sugar baron, and the largest cannabis farmer in the country. He makes you sick with sugar and takes your money with one hand, then with the other charges you money for medicines that might help with the sickness his products have caused, like maybe cancer or something. the whole system is corrupt, humans have used cannabis for centuries, for medicines, for textiles for clothing, ropes, sails, threads, it can be used for food, seeds and oils. It can be used in concrete and gives off less co2 than modern stuff, would do a much better job than RAAC concrete. It was banned in 1928, its medical use was outlawed in 1971. Growing cannabis plants was also made illegal in 1964.

The reason it was banned was so the older generations would die off and the community knowledge about the usage of these natural plant medicines would fade away, then less than a hundred years later they have shiny new medicines they've discovered and are going to charge you money for, profiting from your sickness with something that has been used globally for centuries.
Why is the health secretary's husband allowed to profit from your sickness, all a pharma company does is extract a compound from a plant, synthesise it, mix it with other crap and charge you money. Why can a man not grow his own medicine for free?
If the ex health secretary's husband is allowed to grow weed, then so am I. One law for all or not at all!
